Replace Noisy Fan on USB Moonlander2 + TTBit Litecoin Crypto Miner

YouTube video

These nifty USB Miners such as the Futurebit Moonlander 2 and TTBit Litecoin Miner can start to develop fan noise issues fairly quickly after installation.

I have a mixture of USB Moonlanders and TTBit Ltc Miners which have experienced alarming levels of fan noise from 1 day to a few weeks after installation. After further investigation, this issue comes down to the awful stock Sleeve Bearing fans the manufacturers have used.

In this video, I will demonstrate the high noise level of the TTBit Ltc Miner stock fan (Moonlander 2 is the same) and show the steps to replace it and the noise difference a good quality Brushless Hydraulic bearing fan makes.

I have done the research so you don’t have to… I have tested and returned many fans. There a couple of Fans which I would recommend as follows:

◉ GDSTOME 5V Brushless Cooling Fan: https://amzn.to/3qJRGaC

◉ Winsinn 5V Hydraulic Bearing Brushless Fan (5 pack): https://amzn.to/3QNZwdy

◉ Senkays Hydraulic Bearing 2 pin 5V Fan: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002555006779.html

Let me know in the comments if you’ve found an easy quieter fan. One other factor to bear in mind is the power consumption of the fan, the one in the video is rated at 0.35W which is useful to know if running from a solar powered setup.
